Yanira’s Priorities

• Support Education - invest in our students in and out of the classroom; fully fund early childhood education, K–12, and before-and-after school programs; recruit and retain great teachers 

• Reduce crime – support law enforcement officers with the tools they need to prevent gun violence and other crime in our neighborhoods 

• Reduce homelessness – invest in evidence based mental health and substance abuse programs to address some of the root causes of homelessness and commit to creating more affordable housing 

• Create good paying jobs - support the growth of New Mexico’s renewable energy, technology, film, and healthcare industries that provide lifelong career opportunities
